How to Practice
Five checks. One practice.
Use this with any guided practice in the library. Choose one recording and one state to explore. You do not need to get every detail right or feel something dramatic.
Before you begin
Listen somewhere you can safely relax, never while driving. Sit or lie comfortably. Let your breathing settle without forcing it. Start with the shorter recording; longer sessions are optional.
Keep to the five
0. Be Still. Pause before trying to change anything. Give yourself enough space to notice what is happening within you.
1. Reveal. Notice the story, expectation, or conclusion you are living from. What are you making the situation mean about you?
2. Release. Stop treating that conclusion as the final authority on who you are. You do not have to deny what happened to stop letting it define you now.
3. Occupy. Imagine one ordinary scene that implies the state you choose. Experience it from your own point of view. A short sentence, a sense of relief, or simply knowing can be enough.
4. Stabilize. Return gently when the old story reappears. Practice familiarity rather than forcing a perfect feeling.
When the meditation asks for a memory
The Always Been practices use revision, as taught by Neville Goddard. You revisit an experience in imagination and give yourself a different experience or meaning to return to.
If no useful memory comes to mind, imagine one simple scene. You might hear that you are taken care of, feel comfortable in your body, or be welcomed by someone who values you. This is a deliberately imagined scene, not a memory you need to prove.
Always Been describes the familiarity you are practicing. It does not ask you to deny your history. If a memory feels overwhelming, leave it alone and choose a neutral scene, or stop the session.
After the recording
Notice the state you are returning from. Carry one simple inner response into the day and take the practical action available to you. When you notice the old state again, that recognition is useful. Pause and choose again.
